  • Battle of the Decades Chili Challenge & Cornhole Tournament

    CASA by the Lakes is proud to announce the Battle of the Decades Chili Challenge & Cornhole Tournament  Join the Battle of the Decades! On October 31st, pick a decade, dress the part, and take a stand against child abuse and neglect by competing in the CASA Cornhole Tournament! Then join the party in the main pavilion for the CASA Chili Challenge! Sample chili from local teams and pick your favorite! All proceeds benefit CASA by the Lakes Registration deadline for the CASA Cornhole Tournament is October 14th. Contact the CASA Office for a registation form. A team registation fee of $25 applies. Prizes will be awarded for the top teams. First place team recieves 30 oz. Yeti Tumblers.  The Annual Chili Challenge will be held in conjunction with the Cornhole Tournament at the Mike Miller Park Main Pavilion. Doors open at 12:00 PM with the even t lasting until 2:00 P.M. A $5 suggested donation is requested per bowl. Each $5 donation also receives one “Crowd Favorite” vote. Each additional “Crowd Favorite” vote is $1. To compete, teams should make 2 crock pots of chili, prepared in advance. Each team receives one table to decorate in the Battle of the Decades theme. Set-up begins at 10:00 A.M. Official judging will held at 11:30 A.M. A registration fee of $35 applies to each team. Deadline to enter is October 14th, 2015. Winners will be declared in: Crowd Favorite, All-Around Champion, and Best Booth.Cornhole, chili teams, and the general public are encouraged to dress in the "Battle of the Decades" Theme. Prizes awarded will include: Most Creative Costume, Cutest Costume, All-Around Best Costume, Best Group, and Team Spirit Award.
