Who We Are

CASA volunteers speak for the best interest of children in court and advocate for each child to have a safe, permanent home. Volunteers also offer encouragement, stability, and hope during a complex and critical time in the lives of these children.

Our office is dedicated to not only recruiting and training new volunteers but providing existing volunteers with in-service opportunities that focuses on current trends and issues within the court system, child advocacy, and child development. While all of our Advocates are volunteers, it still costs $419 per year to provide one child with a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

One might think an important mission like CASA’s would receive consistent financial support from local, state or federal government.  This is not the case!  CASA receives no government funding and is wholly supported through community grants, grants from national CASA affiliate organizations, and most importantly, through donors in the community. Luckily there are lots of things you can do to help CASA grow and operate, economically and effectively:

Ongoing Opportunities:
-Apply to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate
-Volunteer 10 hours a week in the office.
-Save old ink cartridges (CASA gets $3 for each one).
-Donate stamps, copier paper, and other office supplies.
-Honor a loved one with a contribution.
-Tell your friends about CASA.
-Help sponsor an event or fundraiser. This is a gift, but one that gets your business or club positive attention and helps our children.
-Leave a lasting legacy by including CASA in your will.
-Sponsor “CASA Connection” to help keep the community informed about children’s needs and CASA activities.

Contact our office today if you’d like to a part of CASA’s growth!

Service Learning & Internships:
CASA accepts Murray State University students for Service Learning projects and internships, however there are only a limited number of spots each semester. Please contact our office by emailing if you think you would like to complete your hours with our organization. An interview and background check will be required. Official openings will be posted, however you may apply at anytime for special projects.
